We are very thankful for the supportive team members that help keep HOPEH going. Below is a brief overview of our active United State Board, Advisory Board and Haiti Board Members.
U.S. BOARD FOR HOPEH
Marline Olivier (President/Founder) founded HOPEH in 1998. She is a native of Haiti and resides in Atlanta, GA. She is an international flight attendant with a passion to give back to her former community in a greater way.
Holly Hartman (Treasurer) has been involved with HOPEH for six years, and has made numerous trips to Juampas with her husband, Lester, and two daughters, Sarah and Laura. Her experiences in Haiti have guided Holly's quest to become ordained as a Vocational Deacon in the Episcopal Church in June, 2012.
Rev. Michael Hodges is the rector at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Dedham, Massachusetts. He has been to Haiti many times and is excited to be on the Board of Directors.
Randy Bak joins us from Massachusetts and is a practicing pediatrician, attorney, and physician executive with experience in policy analysis, technology adoption, and information systems strategy.
Chevyoune Haig Wood attended Illinois State University, where she obtained a B.S. in Criminal Justice. She retired after 35 years with the State of Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. Chevy has been a member of the Carroll County Haiti Mission Project group since 2002.
Karen McCarthy is a former teacher. She has a love and desire to educate children in the community of Juampas and recognizes that because of HOPEH’s multifaceted dedication to clean water, nutrition, healthcare and education we are able to give the people of Juampas the best possible chance out of poverty.
ADVISORS
Dr. Lester James Hartman M.D. is the senior associate at Westwood/Mansfield Pediatrics. He is an instructor at Harvard and Boston University Medical Schools. He began practicing pediatrics in 1986. Dr. Hartman has been traveling to Haiti for years with his wife, Holly, and two daughters, Laura and Sarah.
Rosine Hudson
Ms. Hudson has practiced as an accountant for over 20 years. She advises the organization in its financial and accounting matters.
HAITIAN BOARD FOR HOPEH
Myrlande L. Balde (Project Coordinator) she is originally from Juampas. She has a heart to help her country and community. Myrlande works as a contractor for Coca Cola in Haiti. She is an entrepreneur.
Abel Semexant (Secretary) is a Minister and a school principal. He is very active on helping his community by helping them to understand the importance of education. Abel is from the Juampas area and is very proud to serve his community
Albert Vicent (treasurer) Albert is from Lascahobas. He works as a teacher in one of the public school in Lascahobas. His background on education motivates him to help the children in the area. He is very grateful for all the organizations that are helping in Haiti.
Wilfred St. Louis (advisor) Wilfred was born in Juampas, and he has been with HOPEH for more than three years.
