When the news broke about the 7.0 earthquake disaster in Haiti, we know we had to do something. This mission of mercy led by Dr. Lester of Westwood-Mansfield Pediatrics of Westwood, MA and other medical professional/organization members flew to Haiti by our gracious flight partners American Airlines, arriving in the Dominican Republic where we soon crossed over to Haiti.

Let us begin by stating just how grateful we are to those that were able to accompany us in such very short notice. HOPEH, in partnership with Medical Wings International would like to thank American Airlines for sponsoring this mission trip. If it wasn't for your courage and your wonderful assistance it would not have been possible.

The first day of our trip was spent in the Dominican Republic where we purchased food and much needed medical supplies for the victims of the quake in Port au Prince. Again we express many, many, thanks to you all. Many lives were saved, many hungry and thirsty and needy victims were provided for because of your gracious and generous giving. When we finally arrived at Port-au-Prince, Haiti, we could tell there was a very dark spirit, or a dark physical cloud covering over Haiti.

We were able to rescue 103 refugees from Port-Au -Prince and to our village in Juampas; those rescued included mostly pregnant women, families with small children, and several elderly people. They were housed and fed in a school house, and also they are receiving medical treatment at the clinic in Juampas, built by Carroll County Haiti Mission Project (CCHMP) of Mount Carroll, Illinois.

During The next 7 days, we made three trips to Port-au-Prince, where the devastation was almost unbelievably chaotic and difficult. Because more refugees will be displaced to Juampas in the days ahead, we are in great need of much more help.

The need is still great and we will continue to try to assist the refugees, displaced families, and orphans. Hearing the pain of mothers, fathers and children, we need your help. Please support our effort, put your compassion into action; help us now save life.
